Bio/Contact“Currently my art focuses on issues of personal displacement/intrusion, identity, media, nationhood and patriotism. Recently my work shifted from being autobiographic and narrative to being more political in nature. I am very interested in investigating and exposing the collective American subconscious, and how this affects our idea of nationhood. I also want to show how influential the media is on the American psyche. The views and opinions, be they political or not, of the majority of Americans, are determined to a large extent by how the media filters and presents events, ideas, information, and products to the masses. Surveillance and government insecurity also have places in my work. Mostly, I believe my paintings try to ask more questions than answer them.”
